Woman starts company to help others navigate divorce

Marriage isn’t always easy; in fact, some problems seem insurmountable, prompting spouses to sever their ties. Some say fewer people in Alabama and throughout the nation are filing for divorce these days. Nevertheless, many people who do choose this route as the most viable option often find themselves facing several challenges as they adapt to new lifestyles.

One woman who has been divorced more than once said she had such a difficult time the first time around that she wanted to do something to help others avoid similar experiences. She said her main goal is to show people it’s okay to mourn their losses, but also to give them the tools and resources they need to move forward in life. The events her company hosts feature discussions regarding finances, dating and other issues that can evoke strong emotions post divorce, such as surviving the holidays.

Each event costs participants less than $50. The monthly gatherings are hosted in various counties in the New England region, and are presented in a casual format that invites conversation among attendees and presenters. One of the company’s main goals is to let people know there are support networks out there to help them rebound after divorce.

Alabama residents may want to research whether any such programs exist in their areas. In the meantime, another great resource to have on hand for divorce proceedings is an experienced family law attorney. Getting through divorce with the least amount of battle scars is often more easily accomplished if one is aligned with an experienced personal advocate who can help protect his or her best interests in court and seek a settlement that helps forge a path toward a new, successful future.
